Purple Haven, a nonprofit organization specializes in advocating for victims of domestic violence. ​

Founded in 2015, Purple Haven has become a pillar in the community servicing the North Division in the Charlotte area. It is our goal to raise awareness by providing resources to victims.

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE?

Purple Haven provides safe, structured housing for individuals transitioning back into the community who are committed to rebuilding stability and independence. Eligibility is based on alignment with program goals, willingness to participate in required services, and the ability to live independently within a supportive environment.
PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS
Basic Eligibility

Must be 18 years of age or older

Must be transitioning from incarceration, justice-impacted and returning to the community
-
Must demonstrate a need for safe, stable housing
-
Must be legally eligible to reside in the program location
Income & Stability
-
Must have a verifiable income source or demonstrate a plan to obtain income within a defined timeframe (employment, benefits, program stipends, or approved assistance)

Willingness to contribute to program costs based on income and funding eligibility
Program Participation

Willingness to actively participate in required program activities, which may include:

Life-skills and reentry education
-
Workforce or entrepreneurship training
-
Music business or creative-industry education (OPTIONAL)

Agreement to follow all program rules, policies, and community standards
Behavioral & Community Standards

Commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and substance-free living environment
-
No active violent behavior that would pose a safety risk to other residents

Willingness to participate in conflict-resolution and accountability processes if issues arise
Legal & Supervision Status

Must disclose current probation, parole, or supervision status (if applicable)

Must be able to comply with any court-ordered conditions while participating in the program

Must pass national background check
Health & Well-Being

Must be able to live independently with minimal on-site supervision

Willingness to seek support services or referrals if additional needs are identified

Must be alcohol and drug free
Documentation

Ability to provide required documentation, which may include:

Release paperwork or referral documentation

Income or benefits verification

Community Standards
-
Treat all residents, staff, and visitors with respect and dignity

Maintain a peaceful, non-violent living environment

Participate in conflict resolution processes when needed
Accountability & Compliance

Adhere to all program policies outlined during intake

Accept corrective action when rules are violated, as outlined in program policy
