Purple Haven, a nonprofit organization specializes in advocating for victims of domestic violence. ​

Founded in 2015, Purple Haven has become a pillar in the community servicing the North Division in the Charlotte area. It is our goal to raise awareness by providing resources to victims.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Purple Haven Independent Living Program
The following Rules & Regulations are established to maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive living environment for all Purple Haven residents. Participation in the program requires full compliance with these guidelines.​

General Conduct

Residents must treat all staff, residents, and visitors with respect and dignity at all times.

Harassment, threats, intimidation, bullying, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

Violence or aggressive behavior may result in immediate removal from the program.
Substance-Free Living
-
Purple Haven is a drug- and alcohol-free living environment.
-
The possession, use, distribution, or sale of illegal drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited.

Residents may not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol while on the premises.

Violations may result in immediate disciplinary action or removal.
Housing & Room Responsibilities
-
Residents are responsible for keeping their personal and shared spaces clean and orderly.

Furnishings and property must be respected and not damaged or altered.

Residents may not move or remove program furniture without permission.
-
Random or scheduled room inspections may occur to ensure cleanliness and safety.
Curfew, Guests & Visitation
-
Residents must comply with all curfew requirements set by the program.

Guest and visitation policies must be followed at all times.
-
Overnight guests are not permitted unless explicitly approved.

Visitors may not bring prohibited items onto the property.
Program Participation

Residents are expected to actively participate in required program activities, including:

Job readiness

Life skills
-
Financial literacy / credit counseling

Health & wellness
-
Goal setting and Second Chance programming

Attendance at required meetings, check-ins, and activities is mandatory.
Employment & Daily Responsibility

Residents are expected to seek and maintain employment, education, or approved income activities, as applicable.

Residents must demonstrate responsible time management and daily accountability.

Failure to make progress without approved justification may affect program status.
Legal Compliance

Residents must comply with all local, state, and federal laws.

Those on probation, parole, or supervision must follow all court-ordered conditions.

Any arrests or legal issues must be reported to program staff immediately.
Safety & Security

Weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited.

Residents may not engage in illegal activities on or off the premises that jeopardize program safety.

Emergency procedures must be followed as instructed.
Confidentiality & Privacy

Residents must respect the privacy and confidentiality of others.
-
Sharing personal information, stories, or situations of other residents without consent is prohibited.

Purple Haven staff will maintain confidentiality as required by law and program policy.
Fees & Financial Obligations

Any required program fees must be paid according to the agreed payment schedule.

Failure to meet financial obligations without approved arrangements may result in corrective action.
Corrective Action & Violations

Violations of rules may result in:

Verbal warning

Written warning
-
Corrective action plan

Suspension or termination from the program

Serious violations may result in immediate removal without prior warning.
Program Termination
Purple Haven reserves the right to terminate participation for:

Repeated rule violations
-
Safety concerns
-
Failure to participate in required programming
-
Dishonesty during intake or program participation.
Acknowledgment
Participation in the Purple Haven Independent Living Program is a privilege, not a right. Residents are expected to uphold all rules and regulations to remain in good standing.
